How to Install Cast Vinyl

Cast vinyl is a go-to material for vehicle graphics, curved surfaces, and long-term outdoor signage. Follow these steps for professional results.

1. Surface preparation

Clean the substrate with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Remove wax, silicone, and dust — any contamination will cause lift or bubbles.

2. Choose the right film

Use cast vinyl for compound curves and outdoor durability. Calendared films work on flat panels but are not ideal for wraps or deep recesses.

3. Application technique

  • Work in a temperature-controlled environment (15–25°C ideal).
  • Use light tack application tape for printed graphics.
  • Squeegee from the center outward with overlapping strokes.
  • Post-heat edges and recesses per manufacturer specs.

4. Post-installation

Allow 24–48 hours before washing. Document the install date and film batch for warranty support.
